Set it once. Every policy does its own math.

A carrier row holds a first-year level and a renewal rate. RevRing.com applies that row to the policy premium and posts the lines. You do not retype the commission.

How this was worked out

From premium to the payout line

Grace Okafor, policy DEMO-2007. American Amicable, Whole Life. The steps below are the same ones on the policy card.

  1. Monthly premium is $96.00.
  2. Annualized premium is $96.00 × 12 = $1,152.00.
  3. The sample grid level on this row is 125%.
  4. First-year commission is $1,152.00 × 125% = $1,440.00. That line is paid.
  5. The renewal rate on the grid is 5%. Each anniversary is $1,152.00 × 5% = $57.60, marked projected.
  6. The policy card projects that renewal across years 2 to 10, which is $518.40 projected.

Projected means an estimate from the grid. It is not a reconciled carrier payment.

Questions

What the statuses mean

What does Owed mean?

The expected date has passed and no payment has been posted. The line stays in the book so you can follow up before it slips through.

What does projected mean?

Projected is an estimate from your grids. It is not a reconciled carrier payment. Keep that estimate separate from money that has posted.

Do I calculate each policy by hand?

No. You set the carrier grid once. Each policy applies that grid to its premium and posts the lines.

Can I export the commissions?

Yes. The commissions views export to CSV so you can take the book into a spreadsheet.

Know what you're owed.
